Ministries

Thanks for checking out the Ministry page for North Hills Baptist Church. North Hills is a church that works hard to meet the needs of its members and its community. Our church offers many different programs and groups to minister both in and out of the church. Whether you are looking for a church where you can sing in the choir or a church where you can help meet the needs of a child in a foreign country; North Hills has a place for you. The following information will give you a glimpse of what North Hills has to offer!

jimPASTORAL: Our Sunday morning service is an exciting time of Praise and Worship to our God and is focused on sound Biblical Preaching. We do not have a formal Sunday evening service but instead set aside that time for small groups to meet and for our families to spend quality time with each other. Every 5th Sunday we have a night of fellowship with food, sometimes a movie, and some of our favorite traditional songs and choruses. Our Wednesday nights are very casual and are generally dedicated to a Bible Study  led by our Pastor, Jim Ward.

MUSIC: Our prayer is our music service will bring glory and honor to our God and He is the focus of our worship. We earnestly seek to worship and honor Him through a blend of hymns, contemporary songs, and praise songs so all of our represented generations can enter into worship. Our choir meets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday nights for 1 hour to practice for the following Sunday and work on any choir specials which are planned.

YOUTH: The NHBC Youth Group meets on Wednesday nights at 6:45 for games, worship through music, and the study of God’s Word.  We also meet Sundays at 9:00 a.m. for Sunday School.  The NHBC Youth Group attends events like the SOAR student conference and plans monthly events to involve yourself or your student in.  We aren’t just a youth group, we’re a family worshipping together!  There are two areas for our youth, our  middle school class for 6th-8th grades and our High School class for 9th-12th grades. Both classes meet together for worship time. For more information about either youth group please visit the groups ministry pages.

CHILDREN:  Classes are offered for children of all ages each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. There are two children’s worship services at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. One is a worship service designed for preschool aged children through Kindergarten and the other is for children in 1st grade through 5th grade. We also have fun filled lessons and activities on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. For more information on the children’s ministry at North Hills Baptist Church please view our ministry page or contact Cindy Wagner.

NURSERY:Childcare for infants through toddlers is provided during each service.

SONSHINERS: Sonshiner’s is an outreach ministry for our senior generation (55+) meeting the 2nd Saturday of every month at 5:00 p.m. for fellowship and a meal. Sonshiner’s also invites anyone (under 55) who wishes to be a part of the fellowship to join them as well. The time of fellowship can consist of a “Pot-Luck” meal at the church fellowship hall, a trip to a favorite restaurant, or a special guest speaker speaking on a topic of interest to all along with a meal.

sunday schoolSunday School/Small Groups: We have many options for involvement in bible classes. Attending a Sunday School/Small Group class is the best way to get involved in the LIFE of a local church. Wonderful things happen during these meetings and the experience can touch the lives of everyone in the congregation – from the very young to the very old.
